A photograph I like

Hi!!...I did this photograph, is my house in south of Chile; this picture I did in “Fiestas Patrias” with one tripod to maintain stability of the camera, I modified the aspect of shutter speed and aperture, having to open the shutter and increase the maximum waiting time to take the picture, thus more light enters the camera sensors beside you have to maintain a constant position because the tripod, any vibration capturing soured. Other important factor is the place, as my father and mother live in the country, the camera sensor absorbing the light house if more light the take would as two photograph.

I like this picture because is as one light in tunnel end, is as if floating in the dark. Very similar as fairy stories. I like because get the feeling of that the dark is immense and small us.

I like take photography and it was very difficult, because I like all the pictures that I make, well not all all, but the least the 80%, I discard the rest for vibration, light, shades, inter alia.

My Future Job

The job I dream, one that takes me away from the office, allowing me to work on all possible forest formations, obviously I will have to perform office work such as management plans, mapping among…other thing; but I don’t want the time spent at the office is greater than in the field.

Before starting the job I will like do a mayor in the silvicultural area and forest dynamics; in forest regeneration, what factors is affecting and which aren't specifically studying “Roble, Rauli, Coigue” forest, which is widely studied in terms of volume growth, but not in term of the regeneration and here I would make a study standing in the forest, in order to study that influence factors the early growth and establishment of initial stages.

I want my work allows me to my hobbies that I like! , as the photographing, reading and drawing. I want that my future work allows addition compatible with travel, I like to see new place and finally I want increase my knowledge every day with my job.

The Best Holiday

One of my best holidays was in the summer of 2011, with my family (mom, dad and brother) we traveled to “Región de Los Ríos”, We hit the austral highway up to Hornopiren town, and cross to Chiloe Island from Puerto Montt, in this travel we were 15 days in the car.

Why was it the best? , because I had the opportunity to appreciate beautiful landscapes, architectures, the Chiloe churches are wonderful! , one true engineering workThey were built based in sets, now many are under repair. I visited twelve, and i'm missing four. In Chiloe I saw a myrtle forest, this is a native tree species (Luma apiculata). The food is delicious, the flavors and scents. 
The first track of the austral highway (to hornopiren) It’s abundant by native vegetation, ancient larches, coihues and ulmos among others. 
To go to Hornopiren we crossed the Reloncavi Sound on transfer and we were accompanied by tuninas (dolphin species). This transfer drop us at the entry of the National Park Hornopiren

A Country I'd Like to Visit

Hi!!! Today I’m talking about a country I would like to visit; they are Japan, Peru, and Ireland. Why? Because these countries for me, have a unique mysticism. First Japan, what I like of Japan it's the culture (More than anything play shogi, traditional clothes, typical foods), landscape and native flora, I loved “acer japonicum”(Latin name) tree specially in fall, for the seeds color (intense red, orange), I would in Japan, see tea ceremony, climb Fuji mountain, travel to Hiroshima, and iconic points of history. In this country I will to relax and shogi plays.

The second country is Peru; because in specific I visit to Machu Picchu and Inca path (a part of this is very long). Also I will eat typical food and sweets. I like Peru for all history what’s wrong this it, Spain conquest and building pyramids.  

Finally the third, I will visit Ireland. Principal because is very magic country, and place of myriad of stories of fairy, gnomes, elf, valkyries, and Gods (Odin and Freya). In this country I will to study and works, Ireland have woods incredible and pink woods and clime very similar to south Chile.  

Free Post 3/ Winter

Hi! Today I'll talk about winter, this is my second favorite season…Is time of hot beverages, Remember my previous post (Free post 2/ My Favorite Beverages), also is time of cold wind, rainy days, winter sports, time to take a break, and wool clothes (scarf, collar, sock and cap) knitting mainly for me.
In this period I travel to my home, to be more specific, in Los Ángeles city region of BioBio (middle south of Chile). My home is situated in the countryside, at 5 min of the city. In this area I'm completely relax… Every year, my brother and I, go to the Antuco sky center, where we play with snow and practice snowboarding. 
I don't like the winter season in Santiago because the smog is always present and the elements in the air make my breath capacity decrease, and because the texture of my face is oily, the smog increases this awful characteristic; all of this happens because in Santiago don’t rain frequently… in general the climate in Santiago have a strange weather to me, I don't understand it! The temperatures reaches 22°C in WINTER! This is not normal or maybe I don't accustomed to it , even after four years living here.

Free post 2/ My Favorite Beverages

Hi my friends, today I will write about the coffee, tea and chocolate, these are my favorite energy and relax beverages and I drink constantly. Of these three beverages, my favorite is the coffee, I love the toasted smell and above all the fresh out smell of kettle, and I love in all versions, hot and cold with cream, with or without milk, but always with caffeine and two tablespoons of sugar. My weakness is the “mocachino”, mainly because in the bottom of the cup there are chocolate, the most delicious ingredient in the amazing beverage.

The tea a comfortable drink to me, in my night of study and cold days or in summer, I don’t have restriction respect with this beverage, because I can drink tea during all years, I loved to taste new flavors of tea, but I like black tea or blue tea because I find them more intense flavors. For at last the chocolate, this beverage is indispensable in my life, and the last hours of the day I love a cup of chocolate, bitter o sweet, in winter with marshmallow, I’m so happy when I drink chocolate, and I feel like a little girl.

The Chilean Flora Encyclopedia is a website that contain a database with 4411 species since magnoliophyta, pinophyta and pteridophyta, in continuum update, this is a website help more easy the identification, search on the Chilean flora also contain 159924 taxonomic and description characteristics.

This website contain 6 section: species, taxonomic browser, interactive game, about them, contact and digital museum.

In species section contain: taxonomic, description, distribution and literature about the search for interest species. In taxonomical browser section have to filter where are: Division, Order, Family, Sub-Family, seeds type, propagation, seed number for kilogram, leaf type, between another. In interactive game is to platform where identification species for photography, you have select the level of game. In the section “About Us”, the web talk about the mission with entity and working group, the founder legacy. In the section contact is a hyperlink where you could contact with the administrators. And finally  Digital museum, is of predecessor website, is creates for this working group, actually is in memory of his founder Darian Stark, this website contain the forest type exist in Chile, vegetation type, distribution, vegetal regions among others.

I see this site every time that I have a question about any species. I like this website because is an incredible compiled information, that have constantly updated

A Photograph (its story)

These two photographs have a history in a trip to Argentina, all began (with my family in 2012) in “Puerto Madryn” a little city by the seashore, where you can see whales, but to see them better if you go to “Puerto Piramides”, a small jetty the south “Puerto Madryn”. In a comparison to Chile, this pier is at the same latitude to Chiloe, here we proceeded to a catamaran to go offshore and we could saw many whales and calves, and also the mating between whales, it was fun, cute and exiting experience!!! One specimen step down from the boat, we thought we would overturn…it was unforgettable.

The second photograph is a penguin, I don’t remember that specie specifically, in one stops when we returned to “Puerto Madryn”, we saw a large colony these animals, I intuit resting, some were awake and present tourists approaching, they were too small (50cm approximate) and very curious.

I like both photographs, become remember to beautiful family travel and very long travel in car!

My favorite books/(Free Post 1)

One my favorite books is "The Little Prince"...ok I it's know unusual considerang my 22 years, byt ther are a cuple reasons: first, it's the first book that gift me, my daddy, I have about 8 years an I lingered reading weeks (now lingered to couple hours), another reasong to in the list is that, I get a different teaching or fable...

Another of my favorite books is "That blood that infects the city" ny Constantin Virgil Gheorghiu, a somewhat police book, whit a city that seems to be the dream of any political, becose them it never heppens something bad, a few utopican?... And the last book es "Red Sky" by David Lozano, A mistery novel, a grouo of friends, a chemical disaster in a european country, a reunion and a legend, I caught fromm the beginnig... It's not last book tecnically,  because they are all the novels of Carlos Ruiz Zafon my favorite author. books described are those that have marked a stage in my life

Your favorite piece of technology

My favorite piece of technology is the "Tablet”, this one is a tool as larger than a Smartphone, around to 7"-10”. My first Tablet was a “Kindle”, but this table I just could read books, but the "tablet" allows use all Smartphone features and some features of laptops. It use similar like a cell phone, but you don’t make a call phone. I used almost every day, principally to read my favorite book and scientific paper to University, listen my favorite music, and read a documents and check out the documents in the Microsoft (word, Escel and PowerPoint), check out projects in QGIS (geographic information system),  I check my banking account and among other things.

I like my Tablet, because it’s easy move to anywhere, this size is spectacular, it’s very useful for working anywhere.

I suppose if the Tablets don't exist, I will not have problem, because I have other solution and tools to supply de applications my laptop and smartphone..

Expectations for a New Semester.

This new semester (the VII) I’m studying” Forest ecology”, “Sustainable water uses”, “silviculture”, “Applied computer elements” , “soccer” and "English". I really believe that these areas are really important to develop me as Forestry engineer.

In this new semester I have an extracurricular activity as an assistant of production and genetics improvement of plants, but specialized on the production area. The teacher in charge is Carlos Magni.

One of my favorite things to do on my free time is playing shogi (Japanese Chess), I often practice on line with shogi club of Valdivia and gamers around the world, and reading books now “The Pillars of the Earth”.

My expectations for this new semester are learning and approve the entire subject that I’m studying.

My auto biography: who am I?

My name is Victoria Pulido. I was born in Conepción in 1993, but grow in Los Ángeles. i went to playgarden when i was 3 months of age and finished the school in 2010 with 17 years old, that same year appliced at Univerisdad de Concepción in the mathematical engineering, but the fall semester 2011, I give up this career and I applied to forestry at Universidad de Chile (a shift in 180º), At present I'm in 4 year.

I live with my brother in Santiago, he study architecture. My mom and dad live in Los Angeles, in at rural area, with 4 pet: 3 German Shepherd and 1 Saint Bernard Dog.

My hobbies are reading books, playing Shogi.
